MakeCrate Visual Design Internship

About MakeCrate

MakeCrate is a monthly subscription package provider for children and teens. Each month the customer is provided with the hardware and software instructions to build small tech projects like alarm clocks, Simon says games, mini robots, and much more. The projects are comprised of two parts- build and code. The projects are like mini games and the user is rewarded upon completion of each course.

My Job

I worked for a semester as an intern for MakeCrate and primarily did visual design for the courses, for the promotional advertising, and for social media posts.

I was in charge of coming up with a system to differentiate the courses. The build and coding were divided into easy, medium, and hard. I also came up with a color for each course while staying within the parameters of the bright logo colors.
